Study Session: Director Hoby reviewed some of the details relating to the negotiations for Section 16 at the northeast corner of Highways 93 and 72, adjacent to the Rocky Flats Nature Reserve. The State Land Board Staff are amenable to the $10 million offer with JCOS committing $5M and both Boulder city and Boulder County committing $2M each. Additional funds would be required for the remaining cost and to buy out the Lafarge mining lease. Negotiations are slow, but may be completed this year.

Regular Session: OSAC agreed with staff’s recommendation to not pursue a 58-acre property northeast of North Table Mountain. This property was formerly turned down in 1996.

OSAC approved negotiations to acquire by donation 2.3 acres from the Clear Creek Land Conservancy near Windy Saddle. The conservancy will hold a conservation easement and will manage the property.

OSAC approved holding a conservation easement on a property at 100th and Alkire Street; the parcel is being acquired by Westminster. It is adjacent to the Westminster Hills Open Space and across 100th Avenue from Standley Lake Park.
