Hiking Horseback Riding Mountain Biking Dogs On-Leash

Trail Rules: Hiker-Only, Equestrian-Only, & Multi-Use Trails. Bikes allowed on trails east of South Foxton Road.

Trail Connections to other Parks:

North Fork Trail in Reynolds Park connects to the South Platte River (more than 8 miles) and the Colorado Trail.

Idylease Campground

The campground is a half-mile walk on Chickadee Trail from the South Parking Area/Trailhead. Five campsite are available; each is equipped with a metal fire ring, picnic table, and tent pad. Firewood, bear-proof food storage boxes & crossbar, and bear-proof trashcans are available.

History:

Jefferson County Open Space acquired Reynolds Ranch in 1975 from the Matthes-Reynolds family. A portion of the land, and the buildings and ranch house were donated by Eva Dell Reynolds. Other portions of Reynolds Park were purchased in 1980 from John and Vivian Tekler, and 2001 from Open Lands Inc.

In 1977, Reynolds Park was listed on the Colorado State Register of Historic Sites.

North Fork Trail Opens Saturday, October 11 in South Jeffco

October 3, 2014

Trail Completed from Reynolds Park to South Platte. North Fork Trail Ready for Hiking, Mountain Biking and Horseback Riding. Beginning Saturday, October 11, 2014 outdoor enthusiasts will be able to challenge themselves and enjoy a new 9.3-mile trail from Reynolds Park to the South Platte in Jefferson County. The North Fork Trail provides a regional connection from Jeffco Open Space to the abundant recreation opportunities of the Pike National Forest.

Jefferson County Parks - Open Space

Dec. 4, 2013

While mountain biking is not currently permitted in the park, mountain bikers will be welcome on a 10-mile trek that will originate at the parking lot and terminate at the South Platte River, allowing access to the Colorado Trail. The North Fork Trail is scheduled to open in 2014.
